CAXTON HOUSE BEGINNERS TAI CHI

Tuesday | 3.30pm-4.15pm
or
Wednesday | 9.30am-10.15am
£5 per class
Caxton House, 129 St John's Way, Archway, London N19 3RQ
Both Tuesday and Wednesday classes are suitable for beginners and run continuously throughout the year, so you can join at any time rather than waiting for a new term. New students are introduced to the fundamental principles of Chen Tai Chi and gradually learn the movements of a traditional form, while having the opportunity to practise alongside the established group as their confidence develops.
Tuesday – Laojia Yi Lu
Tuesday’s class focuses on the traditional Chen-style Laojia Yi Lu, also known as the 74-movement form. Although the beginner class officially ends at 4:15pm, students are welcome to stay and join the advanced group as they practise the complete form. You can take part for as much or as little as you wish.
Wednesday – Shorter Chen Form
Wednesday’s class follows a version of the 18-movement form (19 movements). Its opening movements are more closely related to Laojia Yi Lu, providing a natural foundation for students who later wish to progress to the longer 74-movement form.
